I stumbled on to this website because I wanted to make contact with Alistair and ask him for his memories of a golfing holiday in Scotland we shared in the 1960`s. Naturally I am very sad to read that he had died as we spent a lot of our youth playing golf at Royal Mid-Surrey GC and he and his sister Sheila came to our wedding in 1970. I send love and condolencies to the family and if Christine would like to make contact my email is djheigham@gmail.com

Alistair was a gifted man, he was a pleasure to work for, and interested in everything. I worked with him from 1978 until I retired from the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary Flying Squad as a driver in 1986. He was always interested in the cars and how we looked after them. A really lovely man and greatly missed. Frederick Kerry

This wonderful gentleman spent 4 hours in theatre repairing my facial injuries after a serious cycling accident in June 1988. May he rest in peace

I've been working for Christine & Alistair for 12 years. Working on their house has always been a pleasure, as Alistair would be their with complements on my work, and a cup of tea in his hand. If I was working elsewhere and Alistair called me, my day always brightened. For me he was both a lovely customer, and a dear friend. I'm so pleased I got the chance to got to know him as well as I did. Thank you Alistair.

Today was a very special day. Today we stood on his road, I was with my family and there were many other people outside to show there respect to him and his family. Today was upsetting but today we all looked back at what a gentleman he was and the fun and times we all had with him. Alistair it was an honour to have met you and I will never forget you. You taught me so much and I will tell many what you taught me. If I became come just a little close to the person you was, I will be very grateful. Love to your family. Tom-hc x

I had the pleasure of working in A&E at the DRI with Alistair in the late 70's/early 80's. He was such a gentleman; so kind, helpful and supportive to every member of staff. He was also pretty unflappable in the critical situations we often experienced in A&E and when out with the Flying Squad team. I remember him with great fondness and respect and I'm shocked and saddened to learn of his death. My thoughts and prayers are with his wonderful family.
