GiarchiGIACINTOProfessor Giarchi George Giacinto George died surrounded by his family at Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth on Wednesday 22 November. He was a much loved husband of Clare, father to Imelda, Emma and Simon and grandfather to Anna, Rebecca, Jack, Henri and Felix. George was an accomplished academic, Head of Department at Plymouth University, inspirational lecturer and mentor; giving dynamic and memorable talks locally, nationally and internationally and was also a respected expert on health studies and gerontology. He was Chair and President on leading committees in Plymouth and around the country. R.I.P. The funeral service will take place at Holy Family Catholic Church, Beacon Park Road, Plymouth PL2 3LR on Friday the 8th December at 12 noon, followed by refreshments. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be made through the retiring collection or made payable to Alzheimer's Society, CAFOD or Parkinson's UK and sent to Co-op Funeralcare, 61 Exeter Street, Plymouth PL4 0AH Telephone 01752 303800.

So very sad to be only hearing about the death of George. Have been trying to find him and Clare for years and kept meeting a brick wall. George and Clare were bridesmaid and bestman at our wedding on 27th Dec. 1969 in London. Our thoughts and prayers are with Clare and family. With our love May and Jim Comerford
