I have known Herbert for many years as a member of the Driffield Chrysanthemum Society . I had a break from the sport of Chrysanthemums for about 15 years for personnel reasons and never saw Herbert in all those years . when i rejoined the Humberside Chrysanthemum Club Herbert was one of the first to welcome me back to the world of Chrysanthemums . Herbert was always a very polite quiet spoken man who was so happy to be in and around the guys at the club meeting , speaking to as many of the members as he could in the break time on progress in the greenhouse and of plans for the coming season . Herbert rarely missed a meeting and traveled from Driffield to the club meeting every month and i know i can speak for every one in the Chrysanthemum world and say that Herbert was a lovely lovely man and will be so sadly missed by us all
