John and I had been friends since school we had remained friends until he passed away, I have lots of happy memories. We also had a great deal in common Politics, Music we both played in bands together also we were both keen on nature I was proud to call him my friend.

I had the privilege to work with John at Sean Hunters in the capacity of a trade union representative. He was without doubt a true socialist and dedicated individual who delivered on behalf of his members. I recall that he often went to the Lake District and always brought some Kendal Mint cake for the lads
