Susan ElizabethMAYA dearly loved mother, daughter, sister and a friend to so many, kind, selfless Sue died peacefully surrounded by her family at LOROS on 12 September, aged 56. Grateful for tremendous care and dignity shown during Sue's final moments following a courageous four-year fight against breast cancer, her sons Andrew, Simon and Gary invite donations to LOROS in memory of their late mother. Eek, love you Mum.

Susan was my best friend at school - age 11 plus - we had such good times staying overnight in her parents' caravan; having midnight feasts (I still have the half halfpenny we created when we shared the cost of one such feast!); going on her paper round in the dark of early mornings having been awoken by the sirens and flashing lights of her alarm clock; singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and going on week long holidays to stay with my grandmothers in their bungalow in Scarborough, using Barton coaches of course! I am deeply saddened to read of your passing Sue, you've joined you dear Mum who was also taken too soon by this dreadful disease. Sending my love to your father and sons. Rachel xx

Echoing the words from Andy, enough cannot be said for the exemplary care and compassion provided by the Doctors, nurses and support team at LOROS. Truly superb. This I'm sure not only eased Dewey's (aka Sue's...) suffering enormously, but also made the unbearable more tolerable for those friends and family who were fortunate enough to be able to visit Sue in her final days. Grateful too for the life-long support given throughout to their mum by her boys. Rest in peace Dewey.
