Such sad news to hear this. My heart goes out to the family. I had some great years playing under lefty. So much so he gave me his nickname at the time for being his natural left footer! True gentleman RIP Lefty

Oh Lefty what can I say...I’m truly saddened to hear of your passing. I have great memories of our nights at the club that often remember with fondness. Di and yourself were top people who have both gone far too soon. Thanks for the good times Lefty May you now rest in peace. God bless.

Where do I start lefty, you have been like a second dad to me as I grew up with you and Di in my life. Remember starting the football team up with your son Lee and his friends in the team great times we had doing that as they got older we moved into running the football club you as chairman me as secretary. We had our ups and downs but made great memories which I will treasure forever. You will be greatly missed R.I.P Lefty.

All I can say is what a fantastic, genuine person lefty is. The word legend is used far to much but lefty was a true legend. His work with Stapenhill football club gave me the opportunity not only to play football but I will be forever grateful to him for the opportunity he gave me to build the lifelong friendships I have today. You couldn’t meet a more genuine person. You will be sadly missed by so many people, a top guy. R.I.P lefty. Beasty

Thoughts are with his family. Hope these messages help to know what a lovely, genuine person Lefty is. Great sense of humour. I knew Lefty through my fiance Nigel. He was so welcoming when I first met him & Diane. Made me feel i was more than welcome. Have great memories of days at Stapenhill football club that tended to end up going into night time. With a rendition of Hey Jude sometime during the evening 😁His bingo calling was always amusing. Will be sadly missed by many. R.I.P Lefty
