Joan HilaryNORTHMORE (Walker)Walker We are devastated to announce the passing of Joan on 17th January 2020. Loving Mum to Joanna, Emma & Lucy. Doting Grandma of Lara & Ethan. Proud "Mummy" to Julian & Scarlett. The Church service will be held 19th February at 1:30pm at Saint Mary's in Brixton, followed by a private cremation. The wake will take place from 2:15pm at Kitley House. Family flowers only but donations welcome to the British Lung Foundation or Eden ward (Immunology) at Derriford call 01752 439 805 Trust number 1314. #BemoreJoan

I can’t believe that I have lost one of my dearest and closest friends: we had so much fun together and once had a hilarious holiday in France when she would get told off by the hotel owner for sitting in the window and smoking- every day!! Thanks to Joan I am with my husband as she sent the waitress to him with my phone number when I saw him in a restaurant! We laughed together and cried together and she knew some of my deepest secrets. I still find myself thinking “ I must tell Joan next time I see her” and then realise that I can’t. Joan- I don’t think I’ll stop missing you : you were taken too soon.

Dear Joan...

I didn’t know you really well but whenever I did meet up with you we always had so much fun.
You were one of those wonderful larger than life, colourful characters, who will be sadly missed by so many people.
