I first met Bill and Gill when I was a volunteer at the hospice, always a gentleman and she a lady, they both worked hard for Nuneaton and its residents. Very sad to hear of Bills passing.

To Gill and family - You are in my thoughts and prayers I am so sorry to hear about Bill's passing I considered him a personal friend as well as a true friend and supporter of Bedworth Rugby and Nuneaton Citizens Advice Bureau. Bill was an exceptional MP and community champion who had risen through local politics to firstly become Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and then MP for Nuneaton. He was a local Warwickshire man who understood the local community and the challenges local people face. He worked tirelessly for his local constituents supported by his loving wife Gill, who amazingly also volunteered 2 days a week as a generalist adviser for the Citizens Advice Bureau. I recall happy visits to Westminster to update Bill on issues his local CAB were dealing with and discuss ways he could help. Bill was not content to just retire after his time as MP but soon after became a Warwickshire County Councillor and despite ill health in recent years continued to support, and be a voice for local people right up until his untimely death. I am sorry the CAB cannot be represented at Bill's funeral but he will be in our hearts and minds as will be Gill and the family. Thank you for all you did for our community Bill, you will be sadly missed but not be forgotten and you leave a lasting legacy. RIP.

Dear uncle Bill
So sorry we will not be able to go to your funeral.
We were so pleased to see you both recently .
I still remember when you and Gill came to live with us at Stretton Road when you were newly married and all the good times we had and the help that you gave me to get my apprenticeship.
I will remember you as a loving uncle and someone who was there when help was needed
With love from Neil,Vivien,Jessica and Vanessa
