Victor Peach was a force of nature; insightful, inspiring and an excellent teacher in the truest and rarest sense. I learned so very much from him in my 2yrs at PCAD and will always remember his lectures and his spirited character fondly.
Rest in peace.

Lectures with Victor Peach were legendary; he was passionate about 20th century art and encouraged students to think outside the box. He often championed the artworks of the previous century that were unconventional and 'path breaking'. His talks were lively and his dress sense was smart but also wonderfully eccentric, a bit like Salividor Dali ready to deliver a surrealist manifesto. He has very left a long lasting impression with fond memories.
Stephen glendenning, conservation bookbinder, former graphic design student at PCAD 1996.

Victor Peach was fantastic teacher and an eccentric. A real inspiration. We had art history with him on Monday mornings. Such a great start to the week. I'll always remember him with his waistcoat, pocket-watch and cavalier hair. Because of him I sold my first piece of work - a big ceramic head for the library.
With respect,
Joseph Carter (Norway).

I have only just come across this sadly. He will always be remembered. One of his quotes on outfits, has stayed with me 25 years later: "If you can't hide it, decorate it!"
A former student.

Victor Peach. What a legend. Always remember his complete and utter obsession with architecture and how he managed to get the subject into pretty much every art history lecture I went to! Taught me a lot about art history and had a very unique teaching manner! Very sad to hear he has passed away, he was definitely one of the defining characters of PCAD for me back in 1991-93.

There must be former Fine Art students scattered over the globe who if the name Victor were mentioned would immediately smile and think of Victor Peach. A gentleman and a scholar? I think so.
