Brian was one of my closest friends. I had known him since my early working days at ICL. He was a very popular guy. When I, along with a lot more were made redundant at ICL, he was the one who constantly checked up on my well-being and also kept me informed of any new openings which were rare at the time due to the recession going on then. He offered the proverbial 'boot up the backside' to get me back into work and from there I progressed, again with massive help from Brian, to make more contacts and endure stable employment until I retired. He would never accept any form of payment. It was his nature to help people in distress and I personally will be forever grateful for that. In recent years he has done a lot of voluntary work for the Prince Charles Trust. Helping many youngsters get a footing in life, just as he helped me back into employment 30 odd years ago.
Rest in peace mate. And thanks for everything.

I met Brian some years ago from his old job. He always had a smile for you and was always positive. He never said a bad word about anyone or anything and was a lovely person to be around. I have very fond memories of him, and I am sure he will be very sadly missed by all his family and friends
