Geoff didn't know me but I was a big fan of his in the '80's when I was in a few Powerlifting competitions with him. When I saw him at the Benchpress competition in Cheltenham in September 2014, I took the opportunity of having my photograph take with him. We spoke about our shared interest in arthritic hips, brought on by very heavy squatting. Geoff was a real master of the Squat. I've only just heard about his death two years ago. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his family and friends. Rest in peace Geoff.

I have known Geoff since we were at school, he was a skinny little thing then. I had the privilege of training with him for almost twenty years, at Severnside Gym, (better known as the Church of Pain!) Geoff taught me a lot about power lifting. He was no longer that skinny kid who lived around the corner. He was a true gentle giant, what you saw in Geoff Poole, was what he was, honest, reliable & extremely hard working. Geoff would help anyone who asked for it, Geoff, a BIG man who always did his best. You were a true gentleman Geoff & I'll always miss you. Rest in peace Mate, you'll never be forgotten. Maurice
