BettyTIDESWELLIt is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our treasured mum Betty, devoted wife of the late Gordon. Mum peacefully grew her wings on the 3rd April 2020, aged 81 years, at Trentham House Nursing Home after a long battle with her health. She is now reunited with her beloved Gord - together just as they wished. A precious, loving and caring mum to Susan and Robert, wonderful mother-in-law of Wayne and Mandy, cherished nan of Philip, Lianne, Charlotte, Kirsty and their partners Emma, Samie and Glen, adored nannie of Dylan, Kian, Kacie and Rahen and great great nannie to Tommy. Dear Abi if you have come back to mum’s obituary on behalf of my brother and myself we would like to thank you for finding the time to send us your message. Your words of comfort and the care I can tell you gave to mum in hospital and out was very much appreciated. Mum passed very peacefully with us at her side. She just wanted to be with dad . We hope you and your colleagues keep safe and thank you all for your dedication to help people. Sue, Rob and families

I hope that Betty's family and friends can see this. I met Betty in the hospital as a student during my first week in the hospital back in October. She was so welcoming and friendly and even invited me over to visit her after she left. As part of our course was to follow up a patient, I checked in with her whenever I could and visited her at home in November. She clearly missed her husband greatly and spoke so fondly of all her children and grandchildren and was telling us all about the new baby in the family. Even after that I would keep an eye on the online system to see how she was doing which is how I found at she had passed. I wish you all my sincere condolences and just wanted you to know that she really touched me and many student conversations started with "I've just met this lovely patient..." and we realised we had all been round to see her - I guess the nurses send us to the nicest patients! I am so sorry for you loss, God bless xx
