Dennis was a good friend and neighbour of many years, a kind man and well-liked by all who knew him.  His sense of humour could brighten the day and there was usually laughter with every conversation.  I will miss the banter as you passed by our house, that unmistakeable figure dressed in black walking up the road every day, “Here’s Den.”   Well-read, interesting, funny and genuine, it’s an honour to be your friend, Den.  You will be greatly missed, mate, but never forgotten.

Such a shock, I knew Dennis when I had the Newsagents in Broad St. Classed him as a good friend not just a customer. A gentle giant is used too often but that is exactly what Dennis was. Thoughts to Kath and rest of family.
