My Aunty Viv, I can still hear your voice and see your smile. You grew up in a time where women were made of strong stuff, and in your lifetime you had to be, but you were also wise, compassionate, kind, honest and were never afraid to speak your mind, I loved that about you, and it gives me the courage to do the same.
I will never forget how you came to the hospital in the middle of the night to support me when mum was ill, but that's who you were, always there, and you always will be because you were part of my life and my family.
My childhood memories are my most precious, growing up in Shere and frequent visits to Birtley Rise makes me smile. Nowadays going to Shere feels like coming home, safety and comfort and even though the people there have changed, you, Uncle Al, Kevin, Mum, Nan,Grandad, Aunty Vera, you will all always be there, I hold on to those memories tight because back then I didn't know how special they would feel today. And my dad, the years of friendship you have shared along with the happiest and saddest of times and putting the world to rights, he is utterly lost without you.
But it's time to say that final goodbye, but I won't, I will just say that I wish you a safe and peaceful journey and one with the greatest of love and respect to a wonderful, wonderful lady.
