Hi Rachel and Robert sorry to read about your dad. He was a very lovely man. I had know idea that he had passed away. I had often thought of Ron and Rennie and wondered how they both were doing. Since I left Age UK. Karan

I first met Ron when I played Eliza in The King and I at the Little Theatre in Guild Street, Burton, when I was eleven years old. Ron, of course, was the King and an excellent one too. Many years later when I played the lead in Rebecca, Ron stood up at the end of the performance clapping enthusiastically, shouting 'Bravo!' I have never forgotten this kind gesture.
I have always held Ron in high esteem and will always remember the kindness, encouragement and support he showed to others. He really will be sorely missed having done such a lot for the Arts. Ron was one of Burton's best.

I, along with others, have many memories of Ron. My earliest recollection is appearing in" Under Milk Wood" when he was the narrator.
One of the last occasions I was privileged to act with Ron was in "Inherit the Wind" when we were opposing attorneys.
I was also appointed by Ron as a part time member of his staff during the last few years of the School of Speech Drama.
Thanks Ron.
"Goodnight sweet prince and flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest."
