Service at Chanterlands Crematorium, Hull on Monday 9th July at 2.00pm (Small Chapel). Family flowers only, donations to the British Heart Foundation may be left after the service.

I was sorry to hear that John Wilson had passed away. He and I had been friends for many years and when he told me he had become unwell, I wrote a poem for him and it was published in 2010. He told me he was very touched that I had done that. Unfortunately we lost touch and I retired, but he had apparently contacted my former workplace to try and make contact. Sadly I did not receive this message until after I had retired. He often spoke about his children, Joanne and Matthew, and mentioned his brother, Bernard. When I tried again to make contact, this information came up on funeral notices.
