I met Rita & Garth for the first time in 1997, when I came over to sing at the 'Big Party' during the 46th anniversary of the Göttingen-Cheltenham Twinning. They offered to host me., and since then, I enjoyed their hospitality every time I visited Cheltenham on that occasion. Rita was an amazing person to me, with a fine sense of humour, but serious and of great sensitivity, at the same time. We both loved music, animals and nature, but had many more topics to talk about. - I am grateful to have had the privilege of knowing you, Rita. I shall keep my memories of our times together, and you will always have a place in my heart. Rest in peace. My loving thoughts and solidarity to Garth.

I first met Rita 55 years ago when we were in the same class at Truro Grammar School for Girls and in the 1956 school photo we are sat together. Although we lost touch it was so lovely to meet up again in Cheltenham some years ago. Rest In Peace Rita. You will be sadly missed. Our loving thoughts and prayers to Garth. Sue Adlam x
