Jody PatriceBARNESRubin Passed away on 14th February, at Derriford Hospital, after a short, but very brave battle with cancer. Loving partner to Neil, dearest mum to Emmy, Georgia and Alex, and devoted Grandma to Charlotte, Molly and Mia. Jody was a much loved teacher at Compton C of E Primary School, she influenced so many lives, and was loved by so many, she was the bravest, strongest woman. She shared a passion for teaching and her beloved Man City F.C. The hole my mum will leave in so many lives, is immeasurable. There will be no service, which were my mum's explicit wishes, though friends and family may take a moment to remember her on 2nd March at 8am. Hopefully, when circumstances allow, we will have a celebration of her life and that of her beloved daughter, Alex. Donations can be made to the British Heart Foundation, a cause she held dear. Emmy, Charlotte and Molly xxx

Mrs Barnes, what a privilege to have had you look after my boy for 2 years you fought for him like he was your own and nurtured him so kindly, James talks about you daily and tells me his happy meter is zero. Rest in peace you wonderful lady you will never be forgotten in our house. Xxx Kate & James

Mrs Barnes, you looked after my beautiful boy for almost 2 years, you took care of him and fought for him as if he was your own, for that I will be forever grateful, we are incredibly sad and shocked of your passing, James talks about you with such fond memories and tells me his happy meter is a zero. May you rest in peace what a privilege to have known you.

Good teachers leave indelible influences on the children they teach. Whether they manage to bring out the best of what’s already there or they find a spark in a child that gives birth to previously unseen potential. The number of young humans Jody Barnes had a positive influence on must be incredible. And to live on in the realised potential of those young people is an extraordinary legacy. A wonderful teacher and stunning human being. All our love. The Hicks family.
