JohnBENNETTof Hayle Formerly town mayor, died at home on 17th May 2022, of complications following surgery, aged 73 years. Beloved husband of Donna, loving father of Ben and Beth and stepfather of Aleksei, adored grandfather of Tim and Cole, cherished uncle of Sophia and Gikas, worshipful poodle master of Boo and Theo. A friend to many, passionate about Hayle's history and natural surroundings, he will leave a large hole in this community. A private family burial will take place on Monday 30th May, followed by a 3pm memorial service at the Passmore Edwards Institute in Hayle TR27 4BU, to which all are welcome. Donations in John's memory to the Passmore Edwards Institute or Friends of the Towans may be made by retiring collection or care of the funeral director, Jeremy Burt, Peakes of Tolcarne, The Old Surgery, Newlyn, TR18 5PR.
