Very sad news.
I worked with Derek in the Design Office at Radway Green for many years.
Couldn't have worked with a nicer guy.; Derek had a great sense of humour.
My sincere condolences.

I heard the sad news a few days ago, I have known Derek since 1986 where we both worked in the Engineering Department at the Royal Ordnance Factory Radway Green.
Derek was a fabulous person who always had time for everyone, he had many fabulous attributes, including the skill of listening to what people were asking before giving you a concise answer, that nearly always proved to be correct. He was my lead engineer on SAA from 2005 until 2011 and worked on many key projects during his career. A Lovely Gentleman.
