I am Val's cousin Lynne and have only just seen this notice about her passing, over a year later. So sad to hear the news. Her dad, Uncle Eddie, told me that he called Val and me and our cousins Pat and Rita the 'Owen girls' due to us all having distinctive Owen features. Condolences to Suniti and Sonia.
RIP Val. x

I was very saddened to hear of Val’s passing, I had the pleasure of working under her in the 1980s as a student and qualified nurse. Without doubt, Val was not only a role model but a lovely, lovely person. She lit up the room wherever she was and had so much compassion to all. Val, you will stay in my memory for the rest of my days and 35 years on, I hope that I emulate your teaching in my practice. Love to Suniti and all of the family. Rest in peace Val. Xxx
