Much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. 7th September 1947 - 24th May 2022 A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Church, Newnham-on-Severn, Gloucestershire on Monday 15th August 2022 at 3pm. A private interment will take place at the grave of Valerie’s parents after the service. Reception to follow at The Speech House, Speech House Road, Coleford, GL16 7EL. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, to 'Dogs Trust' may be left at the service or sent to M.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Directors, Wintles Hill, Westbury-on-Severn, Glos., GL14 1QG. I finally have the answer to my question of why I couldn't reach my darling Valerie. I was so privileged to be part of her family when I was young, as her sister Fiona's best friend. And I was triply privileged to meet Valerie decades later as a friend. She was the most beautiful person and remains in my heart.
