GerryFLOODDied peacefully at home on the 12th February 2021. Beloved father to Liam and Chelsey, grandad to Thomas. A private funeral will be at Markeaton Crematorium on Monday 22nd March. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust

Well it looks like we are going to have to cut our own trees from now on. Hope we can do a good job for you. Profits of the Woodlands pub will certainly be going down. Fond memories and god bless you.

Dad, thanks for showing me how to appreciate nature. I saw two peregine falcons last week, and wanted to tell you (from now on I will just tell you in my heart). The female of the species is larger, but you probably already knew that. The male had a rabbit or something in its talons and was trying to woo the female, but she didn't seem too interested. Apparently if you're lucky you can see the male pass the catch to the female in midair.

I have never known anybody who is so good at spotting and identifying birds as you. It always took me such a long time to see what you were pointing at! And you were always so patient in helping me to find it. I thought we would have longer, but I'm grateful for the time we had.

Thanks for teaching me how to pay attention to the trees. I love you, Chelbo xxx
