I live across the road from Mary and had been good friends for many years in her later life. I very much enjoyed her company - we would talk, debate current issues, watch tennis together and laugh a lot. Mary was always interested in the world outside as well as my growing family. I love the picture where we spent many hours sat talking in the sun!

I grew up across the road from Mr & Mrs Gee and their family , son Kenneth was one of my best pals. Like everyone , you referred to your neighbours as Mr and Mrs so she was always Mrs Gee to me. In recent years I got to know her as Mary after the death of my mother when talking to her in her house about times past and present was a comfort for me and I think a pleasure for her.
There are still elderly ladies in Hull and Holderness who I know remember Mrs Gee as their young schoolmistress from long ago.
