JohnGODWINRetired solicitor. It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that after a short battle with health complications, our beloved husband and father passed away on the 25th December. Never has there been a man so just and with the courage to stand up against injustice, wherever he saw fit. He will be sorely missed as he was a pillar of strength to many and we know that he touched the hearts of more people than we could ever hope to count. His passing was peaceful and he was surrounded by the love of his family. We will miss him. Family flowers only please, donations preferred for Age UK. Funeral arrangements later. Donations and enquiries to: WILLIAMSON BROTHERS Family Funeral Directors, Birch House, Birches Head Road, Hanley, ST1 6LH. Tel. 01782 212880.

Devastated to learn of the sad news of Mr Godwin's death. As a former receptionist of Brown & Corbishley I will remember him as a warm, witty and humorous partner, always ready with a witty remark; he made me laugh. As a fellow supporter of SCFC shared many a good tale of the glory days of our beloved club. Made working there very enjoyable. My thoughts and prayers are with Sue and all his family.
