They broke the mould when they made Eddie Walsh, a true one of a kind in all the good ways. I knew about Eddie before I ever got to be a friend of his or should I say before he took me under his wing. My mother (who sadly passed away this year too) idolized him and doted over him as he was very good to her when he first came to Birmingham. He would always check in and see if mom wanted stuff brought over and back when he'd be driving and getting ferry home to Mount Scott. Such great nature in all the Walsh's this way ❤️
In my late (actually early) teens when I started going out and about I'd see Eddie at various sessions of music and then he kind of adopted me for a couple of years.
Great nights of music, devilment and a small bit of supping but always memorable, good hearted fun. To say Eddie was generous would be doing him a disservice, without doubt he was the kindest most generous man I ever met. This was always the case but I've vivid memories of an epic day out at Cheltenham in particular.
You'll be sorely missed Eddie but I'll continue to think of you often, especially on the rare occasion I give a rendition of 'Lulu'
