To Our Wonderful Great Grandad

We will all miss you so very much. Remembering how you used to play board games with us and how you would draw and colour with us on our little chairs. Your amazing birthday and Christmas cards filled with stickers and how you always made time to talk to each of us. Thankyou for such special memories.
Love from Jack, Bailey, Erica, Ashleigh, Winter & River

My Wonderful Grandad. I shall miss you forever.

For sitting me on your knee to watch cartoons, reciting Mickey Plum dozens of times a day on demand, reading to me often (and falling asleep!) & playing countless games of Snakes & Ladders. For the games of Bingo and watching Heartbeat & Bullseye on the TV on Sunday evenings willing them not to end, because when they did we would have to go home and to school the next day.
For the train drawings and colouring, trips to Belco & the chip shop in the old navy blue pushchair. Telling me off for putting my feet behind the footrest and getting them trapped.

For the train rides to Skegness and the personal space you would carve out for me only to play in the sand!

For the hot milk before breakfast when I would come to stay and the opportunity to watch you lather up for a shave. For the way, your cheek felt every time I kissed it and how you always smelled of clean soap, even the very last time I kissed you goodbye.

For your famous trifles and your Yorkshire Pudding recipe that took me nearly 20 years to master. For the gas ring left on in the kitchen and the fire bar on low all year round. For the foil trimmings that covered the ceiling at Christmas, and the train set you made me for my birthday.

For the way you stroked and talked to the cat and your special words and phrases, like "Chuck it!" when telling us off.

For the conversations and laughter, we shared when I got older.
For holding each of my babies and touching each of their hearts, leaving your imprint within them forever.

For the 40 wonderful years, you were my Grandad.
Thankyou
Love Always Juliette
