His grace in the saddle was drawn from a keen understanding of the game's history and traditions. The world of Polo seems almost impossibly glamorous: a private elite club of millionaires and royals, of champagne parties and horses. the spectator sport for the world's champagne set. It is a sport that requires horsemanship of the highest calibre, a guts and glory high adrenalin sport, fast, furious, skilful and aggressive, featuring an awesome alliance between human and horse. As for that such a beauteous trophy! Fond memories will live forever with all fortunate enough to have been a recipient of his generosity, spirit and his unbridled sense of humour. I love you so, adored daughter, Irene Girvan
