Your death was the first to break the link of our family chain. No photographs to look at or to show my children. Susanna was just 18 months old too young to remember, my son your namesake Joseph Thomas Flemming Glassford was born 12 years later. I can see you in him, he takes no prisoners and keeps his cards close to his chest, he also likes a wee dram. I keep on telling him, You're your Uncle Josey all over like you, a quiet man. All the memories I have but here's just a few, your smile within a smile, your shoulder length brown hair and that grizzly looking beard. Hearing that familiar voice walking up the garden path in Ferniegair, after your 7 long years away from home. Shouting JESUS IS HERE.. Of all the worldly goods I own your possessions are the ones I truly treasure. Your black and purple stripey tie and yellow v-neck jumper. That don't look like they belong to bygone years of yonder. If God could grant me just one wish, I know what mine would be. To have you hold my hand just one last time like you use to do with me. I know that you are with Mum, Dad Mary and John, until we meet again dearest brother. Your loving sister always Patricia, niece Susanna and nephew Joseph from Belfast xxx
