MatthewHUDSONof Bury Road, Rawtenstall, died at Royal Blackburn Hospital, on Sunday, December 1, aged 85. He was a credit controller/accounts officer and retired from Leggetts Freightways in 1999. He was a member of Longholme Methodist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, art, watching films, playing the piano, he was a circuit steward at the church and a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed cricket when he was younger. He was widower of Hazel Hudson, who died in 2011. A funeral service took place on Wednesday, December 18, conducted by the Rev David Burrow, at 1pm at Longholme Methodist Church, followed by committal at Burnley Crematorium at 2.30pm. Donations are requested for Longholme Methodist Church and Action For Children. Funeral director: Dawn Winfield for Fred Hamer Funeral Service.
