RichardSPEDDINGMR Richard Spedding, known as Dick, of Bacup Road, Waterfoot, died on Sunday, January 19, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 85. Richard served in the army and in the Suez canal crisis; he was a corporal and served for three years in total. He then started working in the building trade, he worked for the Electric Board and prior to retirement he was a textile printer. In his spare time he enjoyed DIY and horse racing, snooker and football. He also loved watching old films and enjoyed walking. Richard was a true family man. He leaves Enid, his wife of 57 years, son Runic John and daughter Nicola. The funeral took place on Tuesday, January 28, beginning at the Chapel of Rest, followed by service and cremation at Burnley, conducted by Kathy Unsworth.
