Business Overview
About Me:

My name is Stephen Brown, I have in lived In Blyth all my life, I was born and brought up in the Isabella Colliery in Middle Row until they were demolished for new houses, my family moved into another miner’s house on Cowpen Road (Baker Terrace) I attended schools in Blyth starting at P.L.R. moving onto the threepenny bit school on Newsham road then onto Tynedale Middle school and onto Tynedale High school.
When I met my wife Nicola Jefferson we set up our home in Blyth. I started to work as a taxi driver in Blyth when I was 21 and loved meeting people and helping them, I started to drive buses around the area, but I didn’t get the contact with people that I liked to, so I decided it was time for a career change. I started helping with under bearing and driving duties for a funeral director, I was where I wanted to be meeting people and providing a service to the community, Peter Melrose gave me the opportunity of full-time employment and trained me to his very high standard.
I love helping and supporting people when they lose a loved one at this hard time. The satisfaction I get when at the end a family says “thankyou we don’t know how we would have coped without you” is fantastic. I am currently studying for my diploma in Funeral Directing, when I complete this it will make me one of the few qualified independent funeral directors in Blyth.
We intend to provide a service when a family needs it most, when your family needs us, my family will be there for you.
Turn to Stephen Brown Independent Funeral Director for compassionate and personal support during your time of need.
