Judy was a significant figure in my childhood. I was her neighbour as a child, I was not an easy child or even a very pleasant one at times. she took me to school. I can remember being a passenger on her bicycle in all weathers riding in weathers, frosty mornings walking the long lane to the road, until I was big enough to ride on my own. I would follow her to Sunday school and come over to play with Heather & Richard. I was always welcome for tea, their home was my sanctuary. I had to be told to leave and go home to my own house on most occasions.
My holidays were cub camp where I went on many adventures. I can remember dressing up in her beautiful dresses with Heather, singing, acting. Sunday evenings we would play rounders in the fields, I picked potatoes, gathered apples, helped with the hay, watched make jam, wedding cakes and so many more things that inspire me today. I was probably more of a hindrance but she always had time and patience. I learned so much from this wonderful, caring lady. She saw good in me, where others had not. I may have lost touch over the years, but I want to say a special thank you. For everything she did for me.
My heart goes out to David, Richard, Heather & extended family, I can’t imagine the hole she has left in your lives. A wonderful lady who will be missed by many.
