PeterBACKALLERPassed away peacefully on September 22nd 2010 at Derriford Hospital, Peter Frank Redvers Backaller O.B.E. aged 80 years. Loving husband of Sylvia. Devoted dad of Susan, Roger and Nancy and Kathryn. Dearly loved grandad of Karen, Paul, Andrew and his wife Maxine, Peter, Thomas and those in New Zealand, Loren, Tyler, Hannah and River. Dear great-grandad of Maya. His life touched so many, an inspiration and well respected by all who knew him. He cared, he laughed, he sang and loved us all. Now at peace with his Lord. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held on Monday October 4th at Mutley Baptist Church at 2.00pm followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please, donations if desired made payable to The British Heart Foundation may be left as a retiring collection or sent to Walter C. Parson, The Firs, 702 Budshead Road, Crownhill, Plymouth. PL6 5DY. Tel: 01752 767676.

Dear Sylvia,


My deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband Peter. I have just found out about your loss through my niece Anne. I think we last met back in the 1970s outside your parents store on Rosebery Road -- and before that at your wedding. You and I go back to when we were just toddlers, so I feel your loss most sincerely.

Peter was my grandad and a great man, he will be sorely missed by everyone one and the way he ran his lift is an inspiration!!
