Granny

Granny, well, what can I say? I still can't believe we are here today.

It does not seem real that you are gone, the days seem darker, the nights seem long.

You were such a fighter, stubborn as they come, you've always been around, always part of the fun.

Birthdays and weddings, special lunches and more, you were happy to come, celebrate with us all.

A glass of wine in your hand, a plate of great food, you'd enjoy the gathering, the festive mood.

Then there were the times I'd see you on your own, we'd have a good chat, a laugh or a moan.

You'd always be keen to hear my news, my latest adventures, my thoughts, my views.

I'd show you pictures of the things I'd been doing, we'd have a sweet treat with a cup of tea brewing.

I loved to hear stories of times before, of how you met grandad, your first date and more.

You were so special, a real true gem, we made so many memories, we wont forget them.

A loving mother, a granny, a great grandmother too, your legacy will live on in those that you knew.

Sleep peacefully dear granny, I hope you're at rest, you will always be remembered as one of the best.
