My sister Sue and I remember our Uncle Roger coming to our rescue when we were little girls. On holiday in Scotland we’d spent a Penny and left our buckets and spades in the loos. Perplexed and worried we stood outside and there, walking up the prom was Roger to the rescue! We never did know why or how he was there so far from home, but to us, right then, he was Superman with a penny for us to rescue our spades and buckets.
