EdithBARTON (Edie)BARTON - EDITH (Edie), September 19, 2020. Edie passed away suddenly aged 84. (Well mum you're back in our dad's arms and reunited with your little girl Marlene, my nan, Charlie, your Freddie and all your family and friends. You loved a laugh and a good party sing song. The nurse was telling me she was having a laugh with you just before your heart stopped. I missed you by ten minutes, I reckon my dad was saying "C'mon Edie our Les is on his way and will talk you into staying". But I think I would have said "go on mum my dad's here for you with my nan and Charlie". I knew you weren't happy lately mum, you were getting tired by the day. A funny thing happened on Saturday, I felt so calm and said to Lynn "I've had such a pleasant week" when I told our Bob he said that's funny, I also said to Anita I feel calm. Was we given peace before the next few hours, I would like to think so as you were having a laugh with the nurses before you went, you must have been calm too. Anyone who had the pleasure of your company for a drink and a party would have had a sing with you). So for friends and family who can't get to my mum's funeral, people who knew my mum around the world at 2.30 GMT on Thursday 1st October 2020 in the church one of the songs she always sang is called Wheel of fortune by Kay Starr will be played and no matter where you are in the world get this song on youtube and play this song for Edie. You must listen to the lyrics, she's not wanting fortune or fame she's just wishing for love and loves precious flame. Edie won her precious flame, our dad, his name was Jimmy Barton. Keep the singing and laughing going mum. Love you both. Keep the party going in the sky. We will be telling stories and remembering the good times. I love you so much mum, the tears are falling so until we meet again, goodnight and God bless.- Leslie and Lynn xxx
