William ThomasBILLINGTON(BILL) March 13, 2009 Peacefully, aged 95 years. Loved husband of the late Hazel. Loved dad of Billy (Bill), Michael (Mike), Alan, John, "'aze" (Hazel) and Barb (Barbara) and father in law of their wives and husbands. All his working life a baker and confectioner of Satterthwaite's of Crosby, where he was known as "Snowy", also avid gardener and grower on his allotments. Served in the Home Guard in World War Two in 72nd County of Lancaster (Crosby) Battalion, King's Regiment "B" Company, No 5 Platoon. Memories will live on of a rather eccentric dad, grandad and great grandad to his 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, brother of Mary. We have lost our inventor of gadgets, our thrifty one man answer to the credit crunch and the head of this branch of the clan. He was a one off. Sleep and rest are yours at last Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad. Service and cremation at Thornton Crematorium on Wednesday 25th March at 12.30 p.m. Family flowers only please, donations may be sent to a charity of choice. Further enquiries to McCallum & Tritton & Sons. Tel. 0151 931 2002.
