I have been privileged to get to know David well these last few years. He taught me lots of things, about farming, gardening tips & how to play Backgammon. We often read from his favorite poetry book & from "Jock of the Bushveld" a book we both loved. We had tears of laughter when he told me his tales of being a farm apprentice, and the farmers wife who threw off her hat and bit her own hand when she was angry ! Also when we recalled his favorite TV comedies like Fawlty Towers. David loved to talk about his family & farm and look at photos of the grandchildren sailing. He still went out most days to feed the hens & do something in the garden & we spent many a happy hour out there getting lost in time. He had tears of pride in his eyes when he told me the tale of walking past Morwenna & Bens home & hearing Reuben cry out for the first time. My ever lasting memory of David will be of him wandering around the field at Hawksland, closely followed by his little dog Joli, & horse Dashwood, stopping every now and then to pause, & give Dashwood a polo that he had hidden in his pocket. Good bye my dear friend, you shall always hold a special place in my heart, and we shall all miss you. Julie, William, James & Harry.
