Dad,
It is with very heavy hearts that we are saying goodbye so soon. You will always be with us in our thoughts and dreams and know you will be looking down laughing with us when we recall all those fond memories we all had together. Your jokes were legendary, especially the one about the Bishop…say no more!! Mum has received so many lovely cards and messages from family, friends and old colleagues, you really did touch many people’s lives. We particularly enjoyed the letter from one of your old Colonels with a great one line; “David was not always the easiest to manage but I will look back with much affection and respect for both his ability and dedication “. You certainly broke the mould. You will be greatly missed but always remembered!
