Sulina and Jack remember Joyce as a true family friend with absolute fondness. She was a friend in the true sense of the word, always reliable and a confidante, ready to offer advice when asked. She was like an extra grandparent to Jack and took an interest in his activities and achievements. He and his friends admired her sense of humour and fun and enjoyed her company when we attended music events together. For Sulina she was also a loyal work colleague and someone who could be relied upon always. She brought to work an absolute given standard of what was "right" and she always spoke up against what was "wrong" . She would champion the underdog and was never afraid to speak her mind. She is remembered at the university with admiration and as someone who would always share a laugh.
