I want to pay tribute to my lovely sister Marge a more caring and loving person you will never have met. Marge would give her last penny to any cause that she believed in. She adored her family from all the little babies and adults included and she knew everybody’s birthdays.
Marge and I and our cousin Lionel grew up in the war and in 1939 were evacuated to Abbots Langley in Hertfordshire. Our baby sister Pauline came later. We had a lovely Billet Lady called Maudie Stanbrook whose daughter Nina became a great friend of Marge’s.
Every day during the war Marge and I walked across the village green hand in hand (I was under strict instructions from our Mum to not let her hand go as she had a habit of wandering off) where we met Lionel at the village school. Once a month we shared our pocket money and bought one cake which we ate together sitting on the field. In those days Marge was a very mischievous little girl and the champion tree climber in our group. We always kept in touch with Maudie until her passing and Marge specially arranged for us to attend her funeral service some 60 years later.
Rest in Peace Darling Marge, with love from your Brother Patrick and Sister in Law Patricia Doran and nieces Leigh and Tina. We will miss you greatly xxx

Herts Young Homeless would like to send their sincere condolences to Marjorie's family and friends. Thank you so much for thinking of hyh during this difficult time and for supporting our cause.

At hyh, our focus is on preventing homelessness - from education in schools and family mediation through to supporting 16-24 year olds in their first homes or caring for adults of all ages who have mental health issues and housing needs.

The money you have raised through the incredibly generous donations will mean that we can reach even more young people in crisis. £10 could answer an urgent call to our helpline and ensure that everybody who needs it has a someone to talk to. £30 could pay for a mediation session for a young person and their family where our front line staff will try to resolve any family issues that might lead to a homelessness application being made.

Thank you once again for you kind support, our thoughts are with you all and we send you all our best wishes for Monday. Love from everyone at Herts Young Homeless x
