Hilda Cook was a legendary landlady at the Unicorn Inn, Piccadilly, Hanley in the sixties and seventies. I remember Hilda standing at the end of the copper toped bar dripping in gold and ruling the pub; there would be no bad behaviour or swearing in her pub. Way back then landlords and landladies had great respect especially Hilda. There will be many who will remember Hilda Cook with great love and respect. My deepest condolence to Hilda’s family and friends, we have lost a legend.
