We were lucky enough to have known Franco for the last 8 years as a neighbour and he quickly became a great friend. He frequently loved to impart advice on growing fruit and vegetables, which was duly noted. Quick witted with a cracking sense of humour he was always ready with a stream of banter over the fence. He will be greatly missed. Once met never forgotten.

Dear Franco - a great man: multi-talented, multi-linguistic, brilliant organiser, remarkable cook, fruit and vegetable grower extraordinaire, warm, welcoming, wonderfully funny, raconteur supreme and wise with the wisdom of his forbears and of life. He was a wonderful parent and grandparent, a great friend. He will be sorely missed but he and his beloved Jane will always be remembered by those lucky enough to know them. Their spirits will live on and down the generations to come.
