John IdrisDAVIES(30.01.1933 - 24.02.2013) John died peacefully, after many months in hospital at Ysbyty Cwm Cynon; much loved husband of the late Ann and father to Beth and Jill, grandfather to Lewis, Ross and Johnny. John was born at 35 StTydfil's Ave, Thomastown and lived there nearly all his life. He worked for Rhymney Valley District Council for many years as a Building Inspector, and enjoyed 20 years as a Board Member at Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association. He managed despite his condition, to live independently and kept active for as long as possible. Many thanks to those who supported him in this: the team of male carers from Social Services, also Rhiannon Lewis, Sarah Restall and Gillian Burrows, who provided outstanding care. Thanks also to staff at The Alzheimer's Society in Merthyr. Thanks to all who attended the funeral service and to Officiant Leah Bond, for providing a fitting tribute. Special thanks to Yvonne Busani and Julie Druce, for their loving support. Donation's received in lieu of flowers were donated to Parkinson's UK. Finally, thanks to the Co-operative Funeralcare Aberdare, for their sensitive handling of all funeral arrangements.
