Mr Davies was my maths teacher who guided me through O Level in maths and additional maths as well as Pure and Applied Maths at A level.. He was remarkably patient with a rather recalcitrant pupil. I did not appreciate this at the time, but in retrospect, he got the best out of me.
Condolences and good wishes to his family

So many good memories of this kind, patient man and skilled teacher. For some of us, our school years can be very far from "the best years of our lives." But Mr. Davies did all he could to be encouraging and fair. His classroom a good-humored and safe place for us all. I would never even have considered taking Mathematics at A-Level if not for him. I am grateful for everything he did to help me, and continue to think of him as a role model for my own teaching.

How sad. A great man of humour, patience, wisdom and learning. Cathy and I will miss him. I know I am just one of many pupils and colleagues that delighted in his presence in their lives.
