Merry Christmas Gran! I know you loved this time of year, especially all the lights and decorations, so this year I decided to make you proud... Sort of...
700 lights on the tree, 75 baubles, 12 metres of tinsel, lots of glitter and lights all round the living room, not looking forward to the electric bill so if you could send me the lottery numbers from heaven that'd be great!
There's so many things I miss about you this time of year, just seeing your smile, hearing you laugh, listening to your very unique sound effects in the kitchen whilst making a cuppa or slicing a breeze block of Christmas cake; Ollie still can't face another "slice" after he had mine that one time I was on a diet!
Mince pies, I've found and looked through your old personal cook books, still can't find the recipe for your mince pies, or your stuffing; fuming about that! When we meet again I'm gonna make sure you give those recipes over!
One thing that brings me peace this year is knowing that your husband is finally back with you, I know he struggled to remember you properly towards the end, but his final words to us were "where's your mum?" And we knew he meant you, so we told him you were waiting for him which made him smile, so I hope when he made it to you, you both made the most of it! I'm glad you get to spend Christmas together once again!
I love you gran, I miss you so much, I'll see you again someday, but until then, keep smiling, and keep shining brightly!
-xXx-
