John "Lonnie" Edward (aka "Budgie")DOWNESDOWNES John "Lonnie" Edward (aka "Budgie") Ex II Para and R.A.M.C, Trade Unionist and local campaigner Beloved of Christine (passed). Cherished Brother of Ron (passed), Les, Sylvia, Phil, Elaine and Kevin. Dearly loved Dad of John and Shelley. Special Father-in-Law of Phil. Adored Grandad of Carter. Passed away peacefully on 31st December 2021 aged 80 years. Funeral service to take place at Coventry Cathedral on Thursday 10th February 2022 12 noon to 1pm. You are also welcome to join the family for a brief service at Canley Crematorium (Cannon Hill Chapel) at 1:30 pm alternatively, please feel free to make your way directly to the wake at The Greyhound Inn, Sutton Stop, where the family will join you. Family flowers charitable donations in aid of 'The Veterans Contact Point' 'Troop Aid' 'SSAFA' and 'Zoe's Place' can be made via J E Hackett and Sons website (make a donation) or by post to J.E Hackett and Sons Ltd Longford Bridge, Longford, Coventry, CV6 6BH .
