I first met Val, when I started as an apprentice, age 17 with Mr Brandon in North Rd, Cardiff. Our friendship began when Val became my first model. She was very patient and spent hours sitting having her hair cut and styled by me. She brightened our days at Aztec with here regular visits. We enjoyed her stories of the Clarks pie shop and her visits to lovely Llansteffan.
I was almost young enough to be her grand daughter but age was irrelevant as Val was young at heart. We made a few trips to visit London shows as we both loved musicals. We also shared a love of gardening and a love of West Wales 🏴. We remained friends until she moved to Llanstephan to be with her son and his family.
Whenever I am reminded of her where ever I am in the world I will blow a kiss to Val my dear friend who was truly a lovely lady. X
