Because of the present dreadful Covid-19 pandemic, we regret we are unable to be present in person at our cousin Sylvi's funeral.
On behalf of the Somers family, our sympathies and commiserations are with her devoted and loving husband and family in their grief.
Sylvia Rose Margaret was the daughter of Len and Rose Somers, sister to Ron and cousin to the children of Len's many brothers and sister and all their descendants. She is remembered as a survivor of the terrors of the London Blitz, rescued by her mother, and then cared for by her rural aunts and uncles. She was a representative of a courageous generation, and we honour her.

Dear Aunty Sylvi, I remember you trying to teach me to crochet. We used to come and visit you every Easter holidays and go on long walks with the dogs, I have fond memories of you on the narrow boat too. I don't think anyone has collected more thimbles than you, you had more every time we came to visit. Thank you for those lovely childhood memories. Love from Jennie.

Aunty Sylvi, Thank you for being a great big sister to our Dad. You helped make him the man he is today. Sorry we can't be with you for your final farewell, but you will be in our thoughts and forever in our hearts. Love from Karen and Jamie.

Dear Aunty Sylvi, My memories of you will always stay with me. I remember coming to see you when we were little by the river. I remember Max the dog and you coming to meet us at the gate. I have always loved hearing stories of how you looked after Dad when he was little and it was lovely to hear you talk about Nanny and Grandad. I know you are sat up there with them now, looking after us down here. Love from Nicky - Youngest Niece.
